Zepbound vials will be available for pickup at Walmart pharmacies at LillyDirect self-pay prices
Zepbound single-dose vials can now be picked up at Walmart pharmacies for the same cash price as home delivery, giving uninsured and cash-paying patients another way to get the drug.
Eli Lilly and Walmart announced on October 29, 2025 that Zepbound (tirzepatide) single-dose vials will be available for pickup at Walmart pharmacies nationwide by mid-November, at the same self-pay prices LillyDirect already charges for home delivery [1].
The price is $349 per month for the 2.5 mg starting dose and $499 per month for the 5 mg, 7.5 mg, 10 mg, 12.5 mg and 15 mg doses [1]. Zepbound contains tirzepatide. Lilly's safety information states it should not be used with other tirzepatide-containing products or any GLP-1 receptor agonist medicines, and that it is not known whether Zepbound is safe and effective in children [1].
Why it matters for patients
The arrangement gives people who pay cash for Zepbound a third practical choice alongside home delivery: picking up vials in person at a local pharmacy. For patients without insurance coverage for obesity drugs, or those whose coverage requires a prior authorization they have not obtained, the $349 and $499 monthly prices are the amounts they would pay out of pocket, and they are unchanged by choosing pickup instead of delivery [1].
Picking up in person also means access to a pharmacist for questions about storage, injection technique or refills. Lilly frames the collaboration as a way to reach patients who face access challenges and to make it easier to start and stay on what the company calls authentic Lilly medicine [1].
