Hims & Hers adds Zepbound, the Zepbound KwikPen and Foundayo via LillyDirect

Hims & Hers says providers on its platform can now send Zepbound and Foundayo prescriptions to LillyDirect Pharmacy at Lilly's self-pay prices, a year after Hims listed branded tirzepatide at $1,899 a month.

Hims & Hers said on April 23, 2026 that prescribers on its platform can now route prescriptions for Zepbound vials and the Zepbound KwikPen, as well as Foundayo, to the LillyDirect pharmacy, where Hims & Hers customers can access self-pay pricing [1]. Zepbound is Eli Lilly's brand of tirzepatide for weight management.

The company framed the move as an expansion of its platform's functionality "so that providers delivering ongoing care to Hims & Hers customers can prescribe medications that are fulfilled by independent pharmacies" [1]. Hims & Hers said this is how licensed providers on its platform "can now help their patients access the full range of FDA-approved GLP-1 medication at the lowest prices available" [1].

What the announcement does and does not say

The press release does not list dollar figures for Zepbound, the KwikPen or Foundayo [1]. That means the exact self-pay prices a Hims & Hers customer would see through LillyDirect are not spelled out in the announcement itself.

For context on how much the picture has shifted: in April 2025, Hims & Hers began selling branded tirzepatide on its own site, with both Zepbound and Mounjaro injections listed at $1,899 a month [2]. Lilly responded at the time with a public statement saying, "Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE: LLY) has no affiliation with hims & hers. Zepbound (tirzepatide) can be prescribed by any licensed healthcare professional. People who are commercially insured with coverage for Zepbound may be eligible to pay as low as $25. For those who self-pay, Zepbound is available starting at $349 per month on LillyDirect" [2]. Whether those 2025 LillyDirect self-pay prices still apply in 2026 is not stated in these sources.

The no-affiliation point carries into the new announcement. A footnote in the Hims & Hers release states that "Access to Zepbound and Foundayo does not imply a partnership or affiliation with Eli Lilly and Company. Any licensed healthcare provider can prescribe to a LillyDirect pharmacy," and adds that "Hims, Inc. is not affiliated with or endorsed by Eli Lilly and Company" [1]. In other words, this is Hims & Hers plugging into a channel Lilly already opened to all prescribers, not a deal between the two companies.

The Lilly step follows a separate arrangement on the Novo Nordisk side. Hims & Hers said it formed a collaboration with Novo Nordisk to help customers access Wegovy injections and pills, part of what the company called "a strategic shift in our US weight loss business" announced the prior month that "reflects the market transformation in FDA-approved GLP-1 treatments" [1]. The company said more affordable prices, more flexible dosing options and a greater variety of form factors mean more people can find an FDA-approved treatment that fits their budget and daily life [1].

Hims & Hers also said the LillyDirect functionality is "supported by our weight loss membership," which it describes as including comprehensive support services, 24/7 direct access to a care team, personalized nutrition guidance, ongoing clinical check-ins and a peer community [1]. The release does not say what that membership costs or whether it is required to use the LillyDirect routing [1].

Why it matters for patients

For people who have been paying cash on telehealth platforms, the practical change is where the prescription goes and what the medicine costs. Instead of buying branded tirzepatide at a telehealth company's own listed price, a Hims & Hers patient's prescription can be sent to LillyDirect's pharmacy at Lilly's self-pay pricing [1]. The gap between the 2025 figures in these sources is large: $1,899 a month on the Hims & Hers site versus a stated LillyDirect self-pay starting price of $349, and as low as $25 for some people with commercial insurance coverage for Zepbound [2].

It also matters that this is a branded, FDA-approved product route rather than a compounded copy. Hims & Hers describes the expanded lineup as "the full range of FDA-approved GLP-1 medication" [1]. And because any licensed prescriber can send a prescription to LillyDirect [1], patients may find the same pharmacy channel available through other clinicians, without a membership.

What happens next

Hims & Hers cautions that its forward-looking statements were made only as of April 23, 2026, and lists risks including the timing and logistics of updating access on its platform, customer response, and changes in how healthcare, consumer protection or privacy laws are applied [1]. Current per-month prices for Zepbound, the KwikPen and Foundayo through this route are not given in these sources, so they remain to be confirmed.
