FDA approves Alli, the first and only over-the-counter weight-loss drug
Orlistat 60 mg is approved for over-the-counter sale for adults 18 and older with a BMI of 25 or greater. It remains the only non-prescription weight-loss drug the FDA has ever approved; everything else sold without a prescription is a dietary supplement outside pre-market review.
