LEAD-6 shows liraglutide beats twice-daily exenatide
The Lancet published the head-to-head trial that made liraglutide the leading GLP-1 of its generation. In 464 adults with type 2 diabetes, liraglutide 1.8 mg daily cut A1C by 1.12 percentage points versus 0.79 for exenatide 10 mcg twice daily, with less persistent nausea and less minor hypoglycemia. Weight loss was similar.
